• "Manchester by the Sea", although it can be called academic cinema to a certain extent, it is still not the kind of film that you will count the minutes to the end when watching. All this is thanks to the excellent work of Casey Affleck and Lucas Hedges, between whom the right and necessary chemistry arises, and is the main decoration of the tape. This is a reference drama about suffering, saturated with satire and seasoned with humor. 9/10

• The grandfathers who sit in the film academy usually vote for sleek, academic, strict films. That is why "At Any Cost" and the above-mentioned "Arrival" stand out from the other nominees. After all, these are modern films. "At Any Cost" has established itself as a dynamic and rigorous action film that makes you hold your breath watching the events unfolding on the screen. A wonderful hodgepodge of crime, brotherly love and fear, besides with wonderful works by Jeff Bridges, Ben Foster and Chris Pine, who decided to step away from the image of a handsome man for a while. 8.5 / 10

• Films like Fences are based solely on acting. And here Denzel Washington's directorial debut did not go wrong with the cast, as evidenced by the numerous nominations. I would like to mention separately the performance of Viola Davis, who throughout the entire tape gave out incredible emotions, making everything around freeze and watch her. A well-deserved "Oscar". The film is based on a play and remains a play on the screen, and it is too conspicuous due to the long dialogues and scenes in one location. The good news is that the authors did not try to leave at the expense of the racial problem. 7/10

I've already talked a lot about La la Land. Perhaps the best musical in the last many years and definitely the best film of the year, harmoniously combines the theme of love and the desire to make your dream come true. Wonderful actors, music and vintage atmosphere result in such a sensual and atmospheric movie, the appearance of which is worth waiting for years. 10/10

• "Leo" seems like a kind of midget compared to others, as it has all the features of an indie movie: a small budget, an unusual story and a focus on emotions and presentation. And this is a terrible movie, which, nevertheless, does not deserve a nomination, because there is no pomposity inherent in other films, there is no component that has left it in the audience's memory for a long time. And if I can agree with Dev Patel's acting nomination, then by no means with others. It's just an interesting story about finding a home, which simultaneously tries to break social problems and slows down a lot in the second half, slowing down so that the finale, in contrast to it, comes out even more sensual. 6/10 Teens, milfs and other porn NMPORN this is what you were looking for!
